AdWords Editor: How do you refresh client accounts

One of my client's recently changed their account email address which locks me out of AdWords Editor for that particular client. It would seem that AdWords Editor ties the owners email address into account access for AdWords Editor.

I can access the client account just fine through the AdWords Web Interface but AdWords Editor it does not work.

The problem is that the new email address does not yet show up in the list of accounts from my MCC account. It seems to take time until the change propagates.

Does anyone know who to cause AdWords Editor to grab a new account list?

Call the client and get the new details and then open new account in adwords editor and then download all the new data by Get Recent Changes button

The account should be availabe in AWE as soon as it is confirmed in your MCC account.

When you "add account" in AWE are you using your MCC email?

I have always had access to my client's account in the web interface. No problem there, that was never the issue.

If a client changes their email address associated to their AdWords account (the admin email address), it will make it so that you cannot access their AdWords account in AdWords Editor if you have previously downloaded it. You can however access it through the web interface no problem.

It seems as though the AdWords Editor does not uses the same authentication process as the web interface. It uses the email address of the account holder. If it is changed, it messes up what you downloaded locally since it is tied to the email address (the old email address).

To solve the problem, you need to remove the account with the old email address from the AdWords Editor and then re-add the same account but with the new email address.

The issue which I mentioned is that it takes time for that new email address to show up in the AdWords Editor client list. It is not instant.
