Affiliate web sites will get banned?

I have read this post

As far as I understand, sites with affiliate links will be banned from Google AdWords.
Do you think it can be true?
If it is true, a lot of sites will be banned from AdWords
(and I think, that this will also hurt Google's revenue)
and not only the affiliate ads as discussed here before.
