Google shows the wrong ad from another ad group!

Hi

I run a campain for a travel agency for trips to the philippinas.

I created a ad group "A" for trips to the different islands with an ad using dynamic keywort insertion for the different island names.

And I created (beside others) a general ad group "B" with the keywords: philippines, "philippines" and [philippines].

When I test a search with an island name like "trip to bohol" Google shows the ad from ad group "B" instead of "A"! I double checked that!

Is it possible that Google takes the large match of the keyword philippines to override "Bohol"?

I had set max CPC same for both.

How can i correct that? Shall I set a higher CPC for the islands.
Or shall I set a phrase match for the island to be more precise?

Otherwise I will have to disable the broad match for Philippinas. CTR is bad anyway.

I have this same issue with several ads incorrectly displaying from other adgroups/campaigns. My ad groups are very tight, so I have no idea how or why this happens, but it does.

I wish I had some advice or info! Good luck!

The first step in figuring that out is to use Ad Diagnostic Tool.

This tool shows all ads that were in the game within the account, before Google decided which one to throw into outside auction. It gives reasons why a certain ad was not shown. It also shows the one that would go out.

I'm pretty sure it'll help you figure what you need to change in order to get it the way you want.
