[news.ft.com...]

Companies advertising on the Google keyword search engine are becoming increasingly concerned about the practice of "click fraud", which is increasing their advertising budgets and rendering many campaigns useless

I found this in my Gmail box as a "related" ad LOL

"Then suddenly in October it [CTR] increased to around 60 to 70 per cent. We had exceeded our advertising budget by 10 in the morning."

Google has advised the companies to increase their advertising spend to avoid burning through their budgets so quickly.

Interesting...

"But the whole system is based on underlying honesty. Once that is undermined, the whole thing falls apart like a house of cards."

Very true

Doesn't look like this is going away.

It isn't going away in the slightest. Within the next 2 months you will see more and more articles about this, here more and more horror stories about this and the fun is just getting started.
