I am getting referrals from adwords content network

No adwods account why am I getting traffic

googleads.g.doubleclick.net I have been getting traffic to my site from google content network couple weeks now. Strange thing is I don't have adwords account working haven't had one in years.
Any thoughts on this?

Do you use any other kind of advertising? How long has it been since you did any advertising? There is a chance somebody scraped a page a long time ago with your ad on it when you were running it or somebody has cached your ad.

if you have affiliates, they might be running content thru their own adwords account.

ogletree no other advertising at all going. I guess it has been 2-3 years since I ran ads on Google. I was sent a free 50.00 get started and tested my products with it. Spent the 50.00 no sales so I stopped it after that. I checked my adwords account it was Jan 07 when I ran the ads and it only lasted about a week and the account is paused.

RhinoFish no affiliates ever. I am at a total loss on this. Looked at referrals this morning and see more today.

Perhaps your URL is almost the same as the URL from someone else and he/she made a typo in his ad.

Dlocks that is a possibility but I bought everthing remotly close to the name and all suffixes. Just plain wierd. Looking at the traffic it has been good traffic. Just wish I knew were/how I am getting it.

Use one of those websites that gives you a complete list of backlinks. They can show you backlinks from ppc.

I have finally found my site in google content network search. Somebody has been paying for my site to be in adwords for more than a month. At first I thought it might be a domain I bought and 301'd to my site and the former owner didn't know it was gone. But today I finally found a site sending me Google content network traffic and it isn't a 301 but my url being displayed.

There is no way in the world to find out who owns the account but I just wonder why someone would want to do this.

Looking at the description it looks like a very new user misspells and poor description. I just wonder why someone would be paying to send me traffic. All the referrals are from content network none from google search so I am at a loss.
