Just noticed while using Google image search that adwords ads were displayed. Not sure if they always been there and I just noticed, or if it's something relatively new. Anyway, my question is if there is a way to target image searches specifically through Adwords? That is a pretty strong signal of the actual intent of the searcher if they are searching something on Google images vs standard web search.

It looks like its possible to target images.google.com as a content network placement.

When I saw the headline of your post I thought you were referring to sponsored images, but I can see its only text ads being displayed.

Is it the content network that places your ads on image search or is it the normal search campaign? I think its the latter.
