These past few weeks I tried selling the same widget to different markets (terms) and failed miserably. I made certain to fully delete the bad terms and ads not wanting their poor CTR's to interfer with the good performing terms. I double checked all the old deleted campaigns to make sure I didn't miss anything. All were deleted.
Other than the above, the only thing I've done was activate a few campaigns from last year that are due to start selling this time of year. Over the last roughly 24 hours the old campain CTR's are reasonable.
I don't know what I may be doing wrong. There isn't a lot of traffic for the on hold terms but they convert nicely.
Thanks for any help provided folks.
In your case:
A.

This means the CTR from Google search for your concerning keywords in your account have dropped below 0.5%.
B.

You may have introduced some new "in trial" keywords into your account.
Both A & B actions have put your concerning keywords into "on hold" category. My recommendations to you for getting back these keywords are:
1. Delete some of "in trial" keywords which you think they're less important to make room for your concerning keywords. Hopefully, they will be promoted back to "in trial".
2. Delete the concerning keywords in the campaigns which you mentioned above about "failed miserably".
This means the CTR from Google search for your concerning keywords in your account have dropped below 0.5%.
I thought this may be the case but I was very carefull to delete all the bad performing terms and ads roughly one week ago. I double checked again this morning and all were deleted. I think doing the latter is what's needed to avoid having terms put on hold/trial.

The terms recently brought online are from a very successful campaign last year. It is simply that time of year to bring them back online.
Whoa! News flash. All the on hold/trial terms are back to normal status now. Whew!
As of this morning I did delete some terms in the recently activated campaign that I no longer have inventory for. Not sure if that's what changed my status as thos terms were starting to show decent CTR's. I'm confused but happy I'm back online.

I think that post (#12) will get pointed to a LOT over the next few weeks.
