Different industries have different conversion rates. In the end it's the ROI which matters more than conversion rates. Suppose I received 2 clicks and 1 of them resulted into conversion so my conversion rate is 50%.
For another project I received 100 clicks and 10 of them resulted into conversion. So the conversion rate is 10%. Even though the conversion rate is less than the former one the latter made more business at the end of the day. :)

We don't have a check-out so we track clicks through to our money pages, that is where we sell our services.

We feel that if someone actually clicks through to those pages we have done our job.

For some obscure terms it can be as high as 50%.

For the general, high volume searches our conversions run around 30%. If we can keep it around there we are happy.

Another tip is don't worry about 1 day - have a look at say 7 days of numbers. If you are getting very poor results on one term and high on another try altering the ad to be more specific. Good Luck.
