New Campaign - Bidding Higher but How Much and How Long?

Hi.
I'm starting a new campaign and I've read many places to initially bid higher than you want to start off with strong placement and CTR.

I'm wondering what advice anyone has for how much higher to bid and for how long. I was thinking +50% for 2 weeks.

It's a good idea to have higher bids and cut down your daily budget rather than cutting your bids and expanding your daily budget.

High bids will give you good CTR and quality score traction when launching a new campaign.

Of course, it will all depend on what your goals are.

Bidding higher on new keywords is a good idea and if they keywords are decent volume (you are receiving 10-20 clicks a day) I'd say yes keep the bids up for 2 weeks. Is this a whole new website or just new keywords? My feeling is that the longer the website has been advertising on Adwords the quicker the CPC prices start coming down.
