The account hasn't even started yet and already has 5 words in trial. Probably the result of the new algo but it's still very weird and not to understand for the average user (like a client)
btw the (MCC-?)system is behaving quite buggy and unstable, showing empty adgroup and erroneous error messages (like: you can't use the back button which I didn't) .
added: it's actually eating up the entire campaign. It revives after a "jump to client". Nothing serious (except for the loss of work) but quite annoying.

There is lots of information about the new Smarter Keyword Evaluation program available by following the link at the top of the Campaign Summary page in your account, which takes you here:
Improved AdWords Minimum CTR and Performance Monitoring

Info on 'keyword states' is a available at the URL below, which is one of the links from the above page:
Keyword status labels and definitions

In regards to your particular query, please note that keywords that have never run in your account, or which are in a brand new account, can be given an 'in trial' status on the basis of that keyword's past performance over the past 2+ years in all other instances in which it has been used.
Here is a bit more info, quoting info from the above linked-to page:
In trial: Keywords are below the minimum threshold and under evaluation. They'll continue showing ads until we're statistically confident their CTR is below or above 0.5%. These keywords may then become either normal or disabled. They may also be slowed if necessary.

This sounds like a possible cache issue. You may want to clear your cache, and if you are logging into AdWords from a bookmarked page, then delete that bookmark too. Then re-boot, open fresh browser, and login from adwords.google.com. This may well solve your issue. ;)
