I've learned much from these forums and from first-hand experience. I compiled a "Reality Check" as part of a sort of self-assessment for how I'm doing on my clients' campaigns. Thought it might be of interest. I would also be interested in any feedback. By the way, only a couple of my campaigns meet ALL these criteria. "An Adwortisers work is never done."

I generate keywords using the 5 obvious resources plus others
I have hundreds of negative matches
I Broad Match, Phrase Match, Exact Match and Negative Match
I use {Variables: A Must}
I separate AdGroups for every keyword family
I optimally punctuate descriptions
I base bid management decisions on tracked results
I run A/B tests all the time
I track 4 types of conversions for free
I design landing pages with Adwords in mind and test them
I resuscitate profitable but Disabled keywords
I optimize Display URLs even if my programmer doesn't want to
I opt into Content Match where profitable
I know my LTV per AdGroup, set ROAS targets, and I hit 'em
I sleep soundly knowing absolutely no other advertiser in my category is matching my Adwords success

Nice one!

Please remind me what LTV and ROAS stand for

LTV - Lifetime value of customer. Search for it on this forum to learn much more.

ROAS - Return On Advertising Spend. Usually expressed as a percentage. Same advice as above.
