Hi,

I was wondering if deleting keywords will open more space in adwords account? Let's say I've got 50.000 keywords but 20.000 of them are performing bad. So, if I delete these keywords will they still stay there and be or I'll have 20.000 more space for more keywords? Kinda confused.

Thanks

Hello blue_eagle,

In a nutshell, yes, when you have hit a keyword limit, deleting keywords opens up more 'space' for new keywords.

And, in my opinion at least, getting rid of poorly performing keywords is a good idea in it's own right.

I usually go through my keywords every 3 to 6 months and removed terms that have produced zero or very few impressions (and no clicks). They aren't 'hurting' the account, but no real sense in having them around. AdWords editor runs a bit faster with less terms to download.
