tried keeping quiet, but just too much coming up these days, so I'll get the ball rolling.

please NO call to actions, or spending money elsewhere, just what you feel needs improving, and are G listening.

1, lack of communication when things go wrong.

a, credit card decline
b, account review (all ads go offline)
c, keywords disabled for low CTR.

all i want is an email folks, thats all, even an automated 1 will do, doesnt have to have a kiss from a Googlette in it.

am I asking too much of a $50 billion company, or are the days why I used to spend every marketing on G over?

Being able to export entire accounts with the click of a button, including ad text, keywords, tracking urls, etc. Oh, those account reviews without letting us know is killing us. Simple email would be nice, I'll even write it out for them:

"Dear Advertiser,
Your Account is offline due to review.
thanks,
GAW Team"

simple huh?

Shak,

Just better communications in general like e-mail newsletters and phone support in Europe are neccesary. I know very few companies that can afford to communicate so little about what they are doing.

1. Communication about accounts (everything said above, and that will be said before this thread is over.)

2. Communication about new features/changes etc. The 'report tab' is gone right now, so Google has a link to their AdWords newsletter: [adwords.google.com...] - doesn't look that impressive since it's not been sent since June.

This promises to be a very interesting thread, and I'll certainly follow it - and include the thoughts posted here in the Advertiser Feedback report that I send out each week. (Next one in, oh, about 30 hours.)

In the meantime, though, this certainly caught my eye:

The 'report tab' is gone right now, so Google has a link to their AdWords newsletter: [adwords.google.com...] - doesn't look that impressive since it's not been sent since June.

I understand that the Reports tab is temporarily unavailable to small percentage of advertisers, while we test a new functionality. Probably should last a couple of hours. Sorry about that eWhisper - but I think you'll like the new stuff, coming along before too long.

But the link you're seeing is a little, uhhm, unexpected. I'll ping the right team right now, and find out what's up with that.

BTW, you can probably get your 'Reports' tab back by logging out of your AdWords account and closing your browser. Then relaunch your browser and log back in to your AdWords account. You may have to do this more than once, but there is a very good chance it'll work for you.

We would really like a better support ticketing system. We've found the latency of doing Adwords support requests over email to be really high. Especially on technical issues where there's a lot of back and forth clarification, having to wait a day between each response from Google wastes a lot of time.

Now our hosting provider (I suppose I shouldn't name names), THEY know how to do a ticketing system. An actual person invariably responds to my ticket in under five minutes, and conversations over the ticketing system actually work. It feels much more like a dialog or an IM session or something, not like the chess-by-mail feeling I'm getting with Adwords support over email!

Better communication between support and client in relation to any scenario that causes the clients advertising to not show, for whatever reason - as has been mentioned several times in this thread already - is essential.

Having some sort of control over where ads are shown on content, as I mentioned in a previous thread, would be useful.

The ability to be able to identify clicks by country within the reports facilities would be appreciated (yes, I know that this can be done via your logs, however, for some of us small time punters, particularly those of us to whom ppc/web marketing is not a full-time job, it would just be easier if some geographical info were available with other reports - have everything in one place).

Drop the vague 'strong', 'moderate' nonsense...

those account reviews without letting us know

[rant]
I've said this several times in several threads, so have many others. AWA has, to my knowledge, never addressed it. It is by far the worst aspect of any online service I have ever used. And all it needs is a little explanation or even, shock-horror, an apology.

I don't have a problem with adwords, I prefer it over Overture, but EVERYONE complains about the lack of communication and Google have NEVER addressed the issue.

I never complain about being dumped from the SERPs, that's free. But I PAY for this, damn it!

Better account communications (like already suggested).

A complete FAQ - including all of the issues raised in this forum.

I was using the site yesterday and it was SLOW. Like, very SLOW.

Maybe a consideration for the future could be an offline advert creation tool. Along the lines of eBay's TurboLister.

I posted yesterday in the Asia-Pac forum [webmasterworld.com] some forthcoming changes that will help advertisers.

Now that this thread is back at the top of the page, I wanted to jump in and thank Shak for starting it. Some pretty good stuff in here. I'll be passing on a link to the entire thread, and a recommendation to read it - as well as verbatim quotes - later this evening, to a long list of folks.

Did I notice any themes?

Hmmmm. Let me see. Well, perhaps communications communications communications communications?

I already had impromptu meeting today with a decision maker on this same subject, and brought up this thread as part of the conversation. So, please know that the message in this thread will be heard.

In the meantime, the Advertiser Feedback report goes out in about 4 hours. Any late-breaking additions?
