Hello!

My old valid card has been declined for unknown reason. I called to my bank, they say CC is OK.

May be someone also has the same problem?

Thank you!

Hello alex7, and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

My old valid card has been declined for unknown reason. I called to my bank, they say CC is OK.

It's best to contact AdWords support directly with an an issue such as this, using the 'Contact Us' link that you'll find on each page of your account.

By the way, even when the bank says a credit card is "OK", there may be other things at work that you won't know about unless you specifically ask. For example a card may be "OK", but the bank may not allow that card to be used for payments made via an automated system such as AdWords, payments from the same source more than x times a month, payments of more than x dollars at one time and so on.

So if you happen to speak to the bank again, be sure to ask if there are any limitations on how (and how often) the card may be used.

AWA is right.

I have received many calls from my bank asking me if I approve of this google thingy charge.. They say it seems to be a internet thing and I should be careful. I had to give them permission verbally and in writing to allow google to charge my card.

I used to have this periodically with some accounts - there never was a good answer for it, in every case the card was fine. Most annoyingly, it almost always seemed to happen on a weekend when nothing could be done about it.

I put three of my clients on invoicing terms, that solved it for them, and for the rest, I made sure there was a backup card to be used in case for some reason the first one wouldn't work.

the only real solution to this is to switch the account to 30 days net
the only requirments are a spend of $1500 per month for 3 months

I don't think the problem is AdWords per se. Most likely AdWords is considered an online transaction and it's been my experience that my credit card issuers decline online transactions. Once they even froze one of my accounts much to my embarrassment. However, if you call them and tell them you use the card for online transactions they will flag your account to permit those transactions to be honored. With my GM MasterCard they even let me specify an amount over which they will not honor online transactions.

Bet it is an AE card we had it happen many times in the past so far it has been about 6 months since the last decline. Not sure why but it happens from time to time.

You can retry the card through the system I think one time I did this several times it fixed the issue after calling the bank. It takes a couple hours to go through if it doesn't do the trick take AA's advice and call a rep.

My old valid card has been declined for unknown reason.

Oh, and make sure that you are basing that information on reliable information. A lot of people have been getting the "Your credit card used for AdWords was declined. Click here to enter a different card." phishing e-mails.

My primary card got declined y/day. Got a mail. Checked it to make sure it was legit, before loging into adWords.

Called bank, who said there is no problem with the card. Must have been a link failure, they said.

I had a back up card alredy activated so I was safe. Meawhile primary card is again active.

False alarm.

Per AdWords lady I talked to earlier today, AdWords had a problem that has been fixed.

I've had cards decline many, many times. When you put in a card and it starts getting pounded with ~ $500 charges all of a sudden it seems to trip a fraud filter on some cards. It's happened with BoA and Chase but a phone call will usually get hem to put the charges through. Sometime you have to tell them specifically to accept anything from Google, sometimes that gets lost and you have to call again but its usually not to hard to get it straightened out.
