I had a very high spending account. All the active keywords were having "great" quality score. All of a sudden today I find that the quality scores have gone to poor increasing my cpcs significantly. Almost by 100%. Can any one help me out with what has happened? Is anyone else finding the same problem in their accounts?

I haven't seen anything this drastic in my account. Could this have happened due to the incorporation of page loading time? It is the most recent factor to judging QS (though they said this would take effect in April so not sure how it would affect you now). You can check the detail of quality score of the keywords (with the page loading time) from the details and recommendation link when you mouse over the magnifying glass icon next to the keyword in your ad group.

The only other reason I can think why this might happen suddenly is if your pages were down for a while and therefore bots could not find any content.

How long has the account been active / started?. If it has been a month or two, the bots might have devalued your landing page. The QS slap takes place within a couple of months of a campaign..(my experience of past)..

However these days QS logic is totally haywire and can hit anyone at anytime.

(sorry, if the above post does not help you.. really the QS thingy is difficult to fathom)

the site was down for a while but the next day after restoring the site, the q.s was fine. the slap from google came a couple of days later.
