Changing keyword bids & positions through API

Does Google allow it?

Does anybody know a way to adjust individual keyword position and bids through the API?

I know to use **0.50 **#3-5 etc. after the keyword but it doesn’t seem to transfer to Google.

Does Google allow this or is it maybe a problem at my end?

Cheers,
Mark

Google allows this via the API. You won't be using the ** type of parameters that you input into the interface or the editor.

Here are the keyword fields for the API:

I think neither the API nor AdWords Editor provides a way to set position preference.

Ahh - I didn't realize the question was for position preference.

That's not in v12 API release. I've not seen the v13 notes yet. Although, Google is trying to bring the API inline with the interface.

The editor also doesn't support the feature. Here's a nice chart [google.com] showing what the editor does support.

However, you can change your bids via the API.

Great, thanks for the help, I'll look into it a bit more.
