We have been experiencing huge problems controlling the quality of broad match traffic for the last several months, but even more so lately. Not only is the traffic often times totally unrelated to our keyword, our sessions logs show that we're already bidding on most of the broad match search queries in either an exact match or phrase match keyword. In essence, it seems that traffic has almost all but shut down on our long tail phrase and broad match keywords and been supplanted by the higher impression broad match keywords. We've also seen traffic explode from one day to the next on various broad match keywords, while other phrase/broad keywords nearly shut down on the same day. Yes, I could probably put in hundreds or even thousands of hours in adding negative keywords at the campaign/ad group level, but it shouldn't be that difficult. It used to be that broad match brought in quality misspelled search queries, synonyms, and reverse word order search queries - no longer. It is now just showing ads for search queries that are already in our bulks.
