Multiple ad in a campaign

The answer to this is probably obvious, but it escapes me. If I add more than one ad to a campaign they are all firing on the same keywords, so how do I know which ads are getting a good CTR since it doesn't appear as though stats are provided for each seperate ad? It would appear that I have to create a new campaign for each ad if I want seperate stats. Am I missing something?

Turn off optimised ad serving at the Campaign Settings level and then each ad will be shown in turn. Within a few days - give it a week but it depends on your traffic, you will see which ad gets more clicks. Finding the ad with better conversions is a separate exercise.

WallaceCleaver, I am not really sure if you are speaking of multiple ads in one campaign, or multiple ads in one Ad Group. Actually, it is not the case that multiple ads in the same campaign are firing on the same keywords. However, multiple ads in the same Ad Group are running on the same keywords.

In any case, however, you should be seeing stats for each of your ads, regardless of where it is. If you are not, I'd guess that the ad is not running for some reason.

Turn off optimised ad serving at the Campaign Settings level and then each ad will be shown in turn.

It is worth mentioning that this setting applies only to multiple ads within the same Ad Group. The "Automatically optimize ad serving for my ads" has no effect at all on multiple ads in different Ad Groups, or across campaigns.
