1) The prices originally were in $ and now they are in €. This is bad because last year the $ was strong and now it's weak.
2) The absolute price level has increased in dollar terms by 50% over last year because of this change (and they had the cheek to up the price anyway)
3) They told us they have a new system which calculates premium ads from a combination of Adwords and premium prices.
Has anyone else had a big rate hike? I'm not sure we will renew.
3) They told us they have a new system which calculates premium ads from a combination of Adwords and premium prices.
yep, thats true, as they have a new system which gives them a guide price to work on, and then discounting it dependant on your budget, relationship and length of campaign, not forgetting demand.
hey they gotta make some $$$s, and it was fun while it lasted, right!

Apparently existing advertisers have the right to renew at the end of a campain. Sounds good, but unfortunately there's no guarantee on the price. You will be offered to "renew at market". Unfortunately the only guys with information on the market price are the salesmen :(
This policy seems pretty useless because Google can hike the price, and if you don't agree, you lose your right to renew.
Would you rent a property on those terms? In my opinion, this reduces the CPM value because we cannot rely on the advertising and cannot plan our future business with confidence.
