Ads displayed erratically

Ads not shown for no good reason

So I'm using phrase matching on my keywords, and occasionally throughout the day I will look to see if my ad is showing, and it isn't. The reason using the ad diagnostic tool is that it is either a negative keyword (it isn't), classified Non-family safe (though I have no disapproved ads) or I'm only on the content network (I'm not even on the content network).

How do I go about finding the REAL reason I can't get my ad to be seen? The daily spend is nowhere near the daily budget and the max CPC is high in comparison to the suggested amount. Position preference is not on and it is not time-enabled.

Puzzled....

The only thing that seemed to work for me was dramatically increasing daily budget (to 5x daily spend). Don't know why, it doesn't seem to make any sense. Seems like Google is leaving money on the table.

Your campaigns are set to accelerated ad display, right? I know you said you're not close to your daily budget, but the system could be being overly conservative.

Yeah, everything is on accelerated. I'm going to increase max CPC a bit because currently the daily budget is at $300 and the daily spend is only getting to about $50 so I figure maybe I can push it through.

Thanks though it's good to know other people have had this problem.

hmmm... probably insulting your intelligence here, but if your campaign is targeted to a particular part of the world then perhaps google is inaccurate in determining your position and therefore you are unable to see your own adverts.

:) Thanks T, but yes they are definitely all targeted to the Unites States.

The problem really is that the keywords are still getting very minimal impressions and clicks but the Ad status tool is still saying that they are not showing, and when I put the phrase in it does not show for me. I've deleted all my negative keywords in that campaign, and I don't think something as general as "state widgets" would flag as non-family safe.

It is certainly a quandary
