Company Guarantees Unlimited Clicks in Adwords

Dear Webmaster Friends:

Over the past few weeks, I have been contacted by several companies who claim to have a contract with google for the PPC sponsored listings.

Today, a similar company contacted me, and said that they are selling for a one-time annual fee 14 keyword phrases for my practice area and guarantee to keep me on the first page of the sponsored listings.

They claim that they give google so much business, that google will keep their clients on the first page of the sponsored links.

My concern is two-fold: 1) this sounds too good to be true, and therefore it probably is and 2) if this is true and they do in-fact have a contract with google, according to the ppc business model, how are some companies guaranteed positioning of ppc ads on the first-page at a flat annual rate regardless of clicks.

Here are my questions:
1. Does google have exclusive contracts with various SEO companies that guarantee first page ppc placement of sponsored listings?

2. How can a company guarantee unlimited clicks for one-year in the sponsored listings with guaranteed placement on the first page regardless of how many clicks?

3. If this is true, how can anyone say that the democratic bidding process believed to be used by google for sponsored site listings is fair?

I would appreciate any explanation anyone may have regarding this.

This is an outright scam. Google simply does not work in this manner - and these promises show a misunderstanding of SEM and a misrepresentation of services.

one-time annual fee

I assume this fee is an up-front payment?

Stay away mate. It's either a sales person not know what they are talking about or a scam.

Google would not do this

On the other hand, it could be that the value of the clicks would be less than the annual fee.
Could you share the range that this fee would be ? And approximate how many clicks would mean those 14 keywords ?
Anyway, don't pay in advance - it sounds mostly like a scam, one way or the other.

Scam, run.

I've even seen one ripoff outfit that gets the business person that receives the phone call to download a demo... which also installs software that will then dynamically change the results they see on G searches, they do this to "show" the person they are able to get you into top spots. A consulting client of mine almost paid them, but ran it by me first.

Now if you got a free set of steak knives thrown in at no extra cost it could almost be tempting...

Zuckerman,

I'm laughing so hard I'm crying. Makes me think of the day that I saw an ad for Sam's club selling SEO and PPC services!

Hey - don't forget that before 2004 (or was it 2003) the top (highlighted) adwords were sold CPM on a first come - first served basis. Ahhh, that was pretty sweet.

But, yeah, scam. Run, don't walk, away.
