Adwords showing randomly despite using budget.....

My ad should show 100% of the time.

I am running an ad that has been doing fine for over a month. Very profitable.

I am using Googles recommended budget,
the campaign has a CTR of 2.5% (some phrases over 11%)

My average position for my hot phrases is always less than 2. (1.4, 1.7, 1.5) anyway, my question is why when I put in one of my hot phrases do I not see my ad?

I click like 30 times until my ad pops up, otherwise it is off the page, non existant.

No at risk words or disabled words at all. All strong to moderate.

Thanks for any feedback.

Most common reasons ads aren't shown:

The recomended budget is based on a 2% CTR. If your CTR is higher, then your daily budget needs to be higher as well.

Thanks,
None of those reasons applies to me, like I said, I using the recommended budget amount, are yous aying I have to exceed recommendations for my ad to show?

Sorry I don't buy that.

Actually, eWhisper is entirely correct. If you have a number of keywords with very high CTR, it is quite possible for your ads to not show all the time, even if the recommended budget shows as OK. As eWhisper points out, this is because the calculation is based on an average CTR.

I'd suggest just testing it, temporarily. Raise your daily budget, let the system incorporate the change (maybe give it an hour), and I suspect you will see your ad more often. Then, of course, put your budget back down to where you want it to be. ;)

Here is what I found,
And the outcome is strange.

These aren't actualy numbers but the proportions are the same.

I first had budgeted $265 a day for a campaign. And did not see my ad but every now and then.

On my $265 ad budget I am getting like a 2 - 3 to 1 return on my budget but I am not seeing the ad a lot.
Getting like a 3 - 4 % CTR.

Google recommends (depending on the day) between $280 and $300 a day for a budget.

I raise it to $290 a day still not seeing my ad a lot and now the return is like 1.5/2 to 1 return. CTR is going up proportionate to budget.

Then at your recommendation I raise my budget up above the recommended rate, so I go to $350 a day and my CTR goes up proportionately and my return goes to like 1.2 to 1.

Very unusual, I guess there is a threshold for this particular market (i.e. only so many buyers a day)

Anyway I went back to $265 per day today and my return is back to 2.65 to 1.
