Hi,

I am kind of new in Google Adwords, One of my client have asked me to create a PPC plan for one their campaigns on an online hotel room booking website. My question is what would be the appropriate budget in dollars for this type of industry and what would be the estimated number of clicks generated depending upon the budget?

Your Help in this matter is highly appreciated

Thanks:)

Hi Jerry,

This is a tough one to answer as I manage a couple of hotel campaigns and one of them ranges from $400 to $500 a day whilst the other does a small amount going up to $150. It all depends on what terms you are going to go for, are you going for generics? (hotel london, hotels in london), is it going to be geo-targeted? ...there are many ways to go about it and from what you've said it's hard to give you any kind of answer.

My advice would be, start it off locally, perfect the ads, do search only, get it to a good conversion rate (for a recognized hotel brand 6-7%, non recognized 2-3%. Find the keywords which work for you then expand the geo-targeting accordingly.

Click wise, we got just under 5k last month on the high budget hotel, 4% conversion. So around 200 rooms booked for $12 000. Given the price of the hotel, it's a good result.

I hope this helps a little...let me know how you get on.

Hallo Jerry!
I have been doing the online hotel booking for some time now, so here are some suggestions:
- Start by using only the search targeting which has much better conversions than the contextual targeting.
- Start with some popular destinations / cities. Check the room availability for your destinations, otherwise you will only pay clicks.
- Set the budget that you want for each destination according to popularity. You can see from the number of impressions, how popular a destination is.
- Find your keywords as icerpacks suggested.

Good Luck
