Slow approval new ads

New ads will start after 1 or 2 days.

I noticed that since about one or two weeks (when CPC site targeting started) the approval of a new created ad will take much more time then before.

Normally when I create a new ad I could see views and clicks within an or two hours. Since one or two weeks I have to wait for about two days.

Even when I only change some text in an existing ad (no URL change) I will have to wait one or two days before I see some views and clicks again.

Anyone else noticed this since Google implemented CPC site targeting?

Yes, I have noticed the change. It is taking much longer than before for Adwords to approve a new ad.

Showing on *search* has always been pretty-well instant, but showing on content requires a manual review which has always taken at least a day or two in my experience.

Are you sure that you weren't seeing search clicks/impressions showing up in the mix before?

I use both search and content network in my campaigns.

For any adgroup where I make a change in an ad it would go 'live' (show views and clicks) within an hour in the past two years.

Since two weeks I have to wait about two days before I see any clicks and views. I noticed this in all my campaigns. I have tested this in almost all my campaigns/adgroups.

So it is not a search versus content issue. I have never seen this behaviour in my Adwords account in the past two years.

I've done a bit of looking into this, and have learned of no relationship at all between the launch of CPC placement targeting and ad approval time.

My best information is that approval times may be slower for some ads, dependent on their content, than it was in the recent past. This could very well be compounded, of course, by the fact that this is the busiest season of the year - with a greater than 'normal' number of new and edited ads being submitted every day.
