I've talked to a few of people yesterday who are worried that their conversions aren't being tracked because the tracking image isn't displaying on pages.

If you right click where the image should be and select properties, the image properties do track the image back to googleadservides, and the code is on the page properly.

Has the new image type messed up some of the older tracking images?

Thanks for the heads-up, eWhisper. This is the first I've heard of this - and I'll ping the techsters right after I post this to see what I can learn.

There is one other possibility that someone suggested today. If you've arrived at the page after clicking through a google link, then it shows, if you don't - then the image isn't visible.

Either this is new, or there's been a bug for a while as I've been seeing it on pages where I didn't click through a Google link.

OK, back now, with what I hope you'll find to be very good news.

I have the pleasure of reporting on a change made directly as the result of advertiser feedback - including, of course, feedback posted here on WebmasterWorld.

The short answer is that the new image types have not messed with the old images.

The longer answer is that your contacts were not seeing the image, because Conversion Tracking is now configured so that only people who click on an AdWords ad, and then follow through to the conversion page, will see the 'Google Site Stats' text.

I know that many folks here have strongly advocated for this change, and I'm happy to be able to report that it is now in place.

Heheh. I didn't see this post until just now. You beat me to it, as usual, eWhisper!

I had a similar problem just a day or two ago, where the code was in place but I couldn't see the text box.

It was because I'd not made the right distinction within the choices for http and https.

I do anticipate that it's not as simple as that but it's worth checking...

Does this mean that other Google tracking images (like the advanced tracking, page views) are also invisible to people who didn't click through from AdWords?
