Ad doesn't show-up when using key words

Hy everyone I am new on this board, but not in the board world. :)

I have placed a compain in Adwords, with over 10 different keywords, however when I search for some of the key words my add doesn't show up, and there are no other ads using the same word, only mine.

I am sort of stumped, although I am new to adwords and adsense, I was under impression if that the ad will show up right on top if using a kspecified key word and there are no other people runing the add with the same word.

Thankx for any feedback

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Artsupra :)

It's worth browsing the articles in the Adwords Forum Library [webmasterworld.com]. There are a number of possible explanations in there as to why your ads might not be showing.

Artsupra,

Welcome to WW.

This post should give you a start on why ads aren't showing:

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Artsupra!

I've got a couple of comments, which I hope will serve to clarify things:

I have placed a compain in Adwords, with over 10 different keywords, however when I search for some of the key words my add doesn't show up, and there are no other ads using the same word, only mine.

The fact that no other ads show on the keywords in question is a tip off to me that there may be some issues with being able to use those keywords. Do they appear as 'disapproved' in your Ad Group stats by any chance?

Or perhaps they need to be reviewed before running. See the post by cuzco, at the link below for more details on this subject:

...I was under impression if that the ad will show up right on top if using a kspecified key word and there are no other people runing the add with the same word.

Briefly, the two top spots above the search results are 'earned' by having a particularly relevant ad, as measured by CTR. It is by no means automatic that the ads from the right will go to the top spots, even if there are only one or two.

The particular details of this latter topic have been the focus of a great deal of discussion on this Forum in the past, so a site search will probably return a bunch more information.

Of course the other possibility is that Google are not showing your ads everytime you search for the keyword. This can happen if the predicted 'clicks' would cost more than your daily budget - so Google only show your ad sometimes to ensure that your ads are shown on an even spread throughout the day and don't use all your daily budget in the morning. Obviously, this may not be the case but I've noticed this happening to my ads from time to time. The thing to do is run several searches from different computers with different IP addresses (if possible), you may notice your ad appearing sometimes and not others.
Hope that helps.

Also there could just be a bug with your ad groups or keywords. We are having the same problem with as many as 3 different accounts. The problem is with the same key words in every account. It does not matter as to our daily budget, max cpc or our ctr. I have been working with the google team for over a week now to solve it. Course it took most of that time to convince them there was a bug. Now they are looking into it, but are not real good with giving me stats reports. The bad thing is my competition is getting results with the same keyword.
