I currently have a large adwords account which is registered in the UK - to a UK business. I would like to change the currency to dollars. Can anyone tell me firstly if this is possible, and what - if any - repercussions there were. I want to keep all campaigns and adgroups as they are - just change my currency.

I'm pretty sure there was a thread on this maybe a year ago - but can't find it - and also would like to know if anyone has done this more recently.

Unfortunately it's not possible at the moment and I doubt it adwords will ever consider such an option.

You Could always export everything with the adwords editor, create a new account and re-import and multiple all your bids by the STG->USD rate.

We had our account in dollars and wanted to change to sterling. We spoke to our reps at google who were able to transfer it into a new account and they also transfered the historical performance data with it. We made sure they could do this before agreeing to it, and it seemed to work ok.

Note: historical performance data, not stats. The keyword performance etc was transfered. We still had to re-visit the old account if we wanted to get full years stats.

Brig, how can you be so sure they transferred the performance history?

mike,

I can't be 100% sure as i am not working there so do not know the exact procedure, but it was what we were told and when it was transferred, our average cost per click did not change and the ads kept the same positions as far as we could tell..
