I'm advertising affiliates directly on adwords and my only current affiliate network is clickbank. I'm also trying to find affiliate program that gives more than $12 in commission. It has not been profitable for me under $12. Does anybody profit for less (using googlecash)?
Now these affiliate programs are hard to find and I would like to know if there are other googlecashers out there and what tips or tricks do you use?
Also I want to join Commission Junction and this may seam to be a silly question, I don't know where to sign up. I can only see a lot of information about CJ but no sign up as an affiliate that want to advertise affiliate programs.
Sincerely
Andla
Sometimes a payout as low as $3.00 can be profitable other times it may be tough to make a profit even if the payout is as high as $1000.00.
But is the ROI success spread evenly across all kinds of commission range?
I Think I found how to sign up for Commision Junction. I choosed the 'Advertiser Application Process'. Not sure if this applies to me. But I advertise ads on google so why not. The application form was NOT very nice.
I don't have a company but the form was only made for companies. I had to be really creative to get through the validation process.
Also I don't have a website where I want to advertise my affiliate because I'm doing it in Adwords.
I'm just curious if they will accept my sign-up attempt if they find out that my website is:
adwords.google.com
:-)
Has anyone some tips on other Affiliate Networks like clickbank? (that doesn't require a website)
Sincerely
Andla
There's a fair number of advertisers on this page - just look for an "affiliate program" link - usually in the footer of the pages.
[cj.com...]
I was making a PPC profit in an affiliate program where the payouts were $.50 - $1.50 = I was making about $1.60 for every $1.00 I spent in ppc. I stopped promoting it because I found a program that was making about $12 dollars for every $1 spent.
The problem is, even if you are making money, its not easy to spend $1500 - $2K a month and have to wait something like 45 days to get a check for $2K - $3K, in the mean time you've already spent another couple of K waiting for the check.
With such narrow margins, I found it necessary to micromanage the KW bids to the point where my ROI was in the negatives - assuming you assign a dollar value to your time.
On the other hand, this other niche has enough margin to allow me to neglect it for months at a time, I just stop in to check KW performance and add new kw variations.
As skibum says - its all about research and trial and error.
Was the program that is returning $12 for every $1 spent from a CJ Affiliate? What would you suggest trying strategy wise. I have been sticking to the $.05 clicks. Can you vary the amount depending on the keyword? If so how do you do that? What do you think is the minimum rank that is still effective?
Thanks for your help.

There is money to be made, and the advice given so far in this thread is sound, but to develop a specific area that works for you, you have to do your own research and testing.
I recieved a mail when I was attempting to signup and it was of course wrong to signup as an advertiser. They gave me some synonyms on affilate and one of them was a publisher. So what you have to do on some of the affilate networks is to signup as a publisher in order to succeed.

Some campaigns earn me $0.10 per visitor, some earn me $1.50. The lowest commission I have had is $0.10, the highest about $200. The volumes vary wildly too etc... to use an old cliche it's just a numbers game.
Anyway, I assume you work in the US and I'm UK based but here are some very good UK networks I use:
Affiliate Future
Trade Doubler
Buy At
Paid On Results
Amazon is also excellent as is CJ.
Other things that I find essential are:
WordTracker - for keyword research
A4UForum - for UK affiliate tips and advice
Related Keywords - for keyword expansion.
Cheers,
Neil
p.s. if you want URLs just send me an email, I probably can't post them on the forum.
Thanks for the response. Yes I am based in the US. What did you think of googlecash? Was it a good read?
I realize I have to be patient since there is a lot to learn and I have to experiment to be successful. My immediate goal is to make $200/wk in profit by the end of October. Does this sound reasonable?
I'm using google adwords on a couple niche areas right now so I'll let you know how it goes. I'm going to buy some of the top spots on keywords <$1.50 to see if that makes a difference.
I'm already signed up on most of the major affiliate networks.
Do you think people based in the US can advertise via Uk affiliate networks?
Thanks,
Mike
Yep, anyone in the US can work on the UK networks, some will pay you in $ too.
I found Googlecash very useful when I started out but if you know a fair bit already there's probably not a whole lot of stuff you don't already know.
$200/week profit - of course you can achieve that by the end of October!
Cheers,
Neil
Have some information for unexperienced readers to save them time.
I was looking for some more networks before I read this and did a search on google groups.
Entered in the search bar: 'similar' 'clickbank'
Read a thread and got a tip on www.2checkout.com. Clicked the signup and the affilate tab. My hope was to find a service similar to clickbank. When I finally have entered all my information and account yada yada I could login. My first impression was 'HUH'. Well this was not about a network where I could choose affilate programs this was about beeing an affiliate for 2checkout.com.
TIP. Be extra carful when searching for affiliate networks. :-)
Sincerely
Andla
