I understand that there is a way to add negative words so that if a certain word in contained in a phrase with your keyword, the ad will not appear for it.
I was wondering if you can control the reverse, where you specify what associated words we want in a phrase with a specified key word that you would like our ads to show up for?

example... keyword= "shoes", assosciated words= "tennis, basketball"
so that when searches are performed... the add will show up for "tennis shoes" and "basketball shoes" but will not show up for any other specified "shoes" phrase.

(this is so that it is easier to track all together, rather than making entirely new keywords for all of them.

Thanks

The closest thing to positive keywords is just more keywords in the same ad group. It is also advantageous to add more keywords becasue the click-throught rates will be different for some and if you just buy "shoes" it might get disabled all together. If you have tennis shoes and dress shoes in there, they may still perform even if shoes gets disabled.

Yeah, make an ad group called "shoes" and in there put "tennis shoes" etc. You'll have statistics available for each phrase but also collectively for the "shoes" ad group.
