Fighting Spam - blocking IP is a joke

Google could cut fraud by 95% in 10 minutes if they wanted to but they dont

I personally think that any and all companies are there to make a profit and will do anything shady or that borders the illegal (or even illegal i.e. msn) to increase profit. That is why I don't think it matters at ALL to Google how much fraud is out there as 95% of the advertisers don't bother to test conversion rates and fraud just increases Googles revenues.

When I say fraud I mean competition clicking on your ads 100 times a day.

My question - wouldn't it be VERY easy for Google to automatically remove clicks from IPs that click on lets say the same ad three times in a row or a few ads within 2-3 seconds? Do you see any reason why they would not do this other than that they are 100% happy with this kind of fraud? The option to block an "IP" (when most people have a dynamic IP anyway) is a joke. Google could cut fraud by 95% in 10 minutes if they wanted to, but they don't, and I think that is a good enough reason not to use any of their services.

"Don't be evil" is the most cynical moto in the history of ... motos.

Google already does a lot of work removing charges for many clicks from the same IP. You can run reports to see how many clicks Google hasn't charged for. They can also credit accounts for invalid clicks.
