I need some motivation here.

Recently I was called and told I was being let go. I make around $70,000 a year. Great benefits..the whole 9 yards. I will receive 6 months pay and 6 months benefits. I also get money towards training.

I have a website that makes about $500 a month on average from Google ads. It's really amazing actually. I can't believe it. Anyway...my job is a huge fortune 100 company. It's kind of scary to think about getting layed off and then trying to get a job again. Management is trying to place me in another position.

I'm thinking if I don't get another job before the 30 day requirement...it may not be such a bad thing.

Here's my questions. If I work on my website fulltime and up it from 14 pages of good content to 300 pages of good content do you think I can go from $500 a month to $500 a day in a year or so? Has anybody set a goal like that and achieved it here with Google ads? If I am not hired on...I'm thinking I am just going to throw caution into the wind and go for it. I know from experience you can make money at this..but I want to make living. I know I am in a good position. Some people gave their two weeks notice, but would have LOVED to have been layed off with 6 months pay. So I just want to really take advantage of this situation and see if I can become successful at this.

Any advice will be appreciated. Any tips. Any good or bad experience..whatever you can spare.

Thanks in advance!

Heck yeah you're in a good position. Why are you even thinking about another job?

Every life turn is a message for you, listen to it. If you pay attention to the messages life is giving you, apply the skills you've acquired, this will wind up being the best thing that ever happened to you.

If you have only moderate faith in your current site, build a different one while building up your content on the current one. What are you passionate about? There's your new site topic.

Now go fishing or something and ponder how great life is going to be. :-D

Dude - here's how I'd spend my time over the next 6 months:

70% - 1) Get a PMP (Project Mgt) certification and 2) Start a blog to post daily about whatever you're really good at (PHP, SEO, HTML, whatever) to establish yourself as an industry expert in your chosen area.

30% - Work on your Adsense site(s) on the side.

At the end of the 6 months, find a job paying $85,000/yr, and keep doing your 30% in the mornings, at lunch, after work.

You will need at least 2 years to build from $500/month to $5,000/month in adsense, and you better have a good growth plan.

That's my 2c, bro!
