Hello all,

I recently started a new campaign in a competitive niche and while my ROI was initially superb, my ads lost rank fast. I've been using Adwords for almost a year and have never experienced something like this. One of my ads went from position 3 to 11 withing the first 500 impressions (CTR was 0.98%).

I have paused the campaign to restrategize and came here for some advice. I really want to tackle this niche so I don't mind tacking a hit initially while I test better Ad copy.

How would you approach this. Increase the bid substantially and keep it there until I hit the right ad text?

You need to do searches on your keywords every do often to get a good idea of the competition you are up against. How much do they fluctuate? How many? Are they running during set times of the day? If you decide to increase your CPC, you a phrase or exact match so no money is wasted.

While you are collecting information on your competition, create some misspelled version of your keywords. You can probably grab some clicks at a very reduced CPC.
