I downloaded parts of my Adwords account with the Adwords
API before, but never hat to do this on a daily basis
like I have to now. I calculated that it would be quite
expensive doing this with the API, so I'm looking for
another way.

What is the best way to get my Adwords click statistics
into my custom (server-side) application?

I'm thinking into using Adwords Editor, but there it
would be hard to automate. And then there is good old
scraping, but that's a hard task with Google Adwords.

Adwords Editor allows you to download the whole account or specific campaigns in different formats including CSV. This does not use any quota so is a good way around downloading and uploading creatives and keywords without using the API.

Tried it, but couldn't download the statistics and that's what's important this time.

There is an option to apply the statistics... in one of the menus. Sorry I have not got Editor on this PC so can not point you to it exactly..

NB. Do you have v3 downloaded?

Have you thought about setting up a custom report that's automatically emailed to you?

If you want to automate it, then use a dedicated email address for the reports that takes the emailed csv and imports it into your client side app.

All the stats you want are in the reporting interface.

I did yesterday and now am researching this further. Looks very promising and I could hurt myself for ignoring reports so long.

There's a translation mistake in help center for my language and so I thought the reports would always be generated 4 am us pasific time. But seems like that'S wrong.

Thanks for your answers!

Sorry to hear about the error, Sujan, and the lost productivity that resulted. I hope you'll contact the support team and let them know specifically where the error is to be found.

On a general note, it's always appreciated when an advertiser spots an error in our Help content and takes the time to let us know. There is a vast amount of ever-evolving content which is 'localized' into a very large number of languages. The occasional error can certainly happen, and we appreciate the sharp eyes that spot them and bring them to our attention.

Oh I did, but got back a not really nice answer. The contact basically said that she already forwarded my feedback. But she wants to highlight again that Google already knows about the problem and is working on perfecting their program. Doesn't exactly sound like appreciating my feedback.

Then I have to ask, why they didn't correct the translation mistake during the last two weeks I was thinking about this... But I will just ask her myself. Perhaps this was just an error of copy and paste of an answer.
