Is this something new?

Just went in to make some AdWords changes, created a new ad and got a screen with a new message:

Please wait while we check your ad text and website URL.
We want to be sure your website works when users click your ad. We're also checking your ad text against our editorial guidelines. This can take up to a minute. You'll be taken to the next page when we're done.

Helps to pick up spelling errors and presumably make the editorial job easier on the Google end of things.

It would be great on the advertiser end too but it seems to take a minute or two per ad. Even at a minute per ad, it could take a full day to post a large campaign.

A nice adjustment would be to be able to post your entire campaign and then check all the ads at once, instead of having to wait for each ad. Even better would be a speadhseet bulk upload to avoid the copy and paste procedure that already can take hours.

That way if it takes a minute an ad it won't really matter as much if editorial processing for each individual ad is slow. You can go do something else while it is processing.

I tried to trigger this in the U.S. today - and failed. Haven't seen any announcements yet, hopefully it'll come back with the new estimator tool.

If I'm not mistaken, this is a beta feature, being given a limited workout.

I saw this today for the first time. The 1-2min delay is mighty annoying. I'm ALL for the "spreadsheet bulk upload" idea! Now, even more than before, that option is needed.

Hey,

I think I seen this last night. AdWords gave a little text about what was going on, and the google colored balls were moving back an forth.

Our Google rep turned on the (new?) Optimization Proposal in one of our campaigns, containing lots of new terms. I asked for (and got) the campaigns in a spreadsheet, which makes it easy to make major changes such as the tracking strings and give back to the rep for upload.
