Adwords Ads Slowed

For some reason over the last couple of days, every time I log onto Adwords it says that my account has been slowed and ads will not show as often. I have had to reactive the account four times over the last two days, even though nothing has changed in my ads, and I have been busily optimizing them to perform better but they still keep slowing it down. Is this a new thing? Has anyone else experienced this, and how did you get it to stop? Thanks.

Nope, not new. This has been around since day one. Basically, it is something that mostly affects newer advertisers who have created untargeted Ad Groups with lots of general keywords.

Here is another recent thread that goes into this very same issue:

There are many threads on WebmasterWorld that have gone into 'account slowing' in a lot of detail. A site search would probably net you a ton more information. In just a few words, though, the solution (in my opinion) is to:

* Be really targeted, rather than general with your ads/keywords. In other words, create an ad that is about a specific product or service, and then support it with a list of specific keywords that are all about the very same product or service.

* Start small, with just a few targeted Ad Groups, learn how the program works by experimenting/monitoring, and then expand once you have 'learned the ropes'.

I wish you the best of success. Keep reading this Forum, and soon you'll be an expert!
