New $10 Bid Twist

So I opened a My Client Center account to be able to upload more keywords.

I started running my ads for a week then pulled back to re-adjust. All the keywords I uploaded as of yesterday maintain a reasonable minimum - .20 to .40.

However, all new keywords I add, including to existing ad groups, now have a min $10 bid no matter what the keyword. I can understand if its a quality score thing, but the keywords from just a day ago, which are similar, maintain a reasonable bid.

Any idea of the reasons? Suggestions? thanks!

What can I do?

They updated the QS alogrithm to better predict quality recently. Therefore, the new stuff you add may fall under the new QS algo. The new QS algo is predicting that those keywords are poor.

That's my best guess what is going on.

You are right.

Any new Keyword, we add to a campaign pointing to a poor QS (landing page) gets hit with USD 10 .

So Google, does not want that page advertised.

so a new, better landing page will lower my bid?

How long does it take after launching the new page before seeing a min reduction?

Thanks

I guy said in another thread that he saw one is his keywords go from $0.04 to $10 and when he deleted it and created that same keyword, it went back to $0.04.

Do you still see this $10 warning today (17th) in your accounts if you delete the $10 ones and try to reactivate those keywords at pennies each?
