Hello all,
i got the following problem:

From the moment my Ads were showing in the "search network" my Ads stopped showing on Google.
This happened last Friday.
The Ads are localized to show in the USA, Canada, Netherlands, Spain and UK only (i'm from germany)

Before Friday
5000 Impressions / day
50-70 Clicks / Day

After Friday
200 Impressions / Day
1-3 Clicks / Day

The remaining Clicks are from "Search Network" or from Canada, Netherlands, Spain, UK.
No more clicks from the USA.

I emailed german Adwords-Support twice:
They say my adds are showing and there are no trademark issues with my keywords (yup, they are showing, but not in the USA;)
I checked it with adding &gl=us&hl=en to the search-url, Ad is not showing.

Recommended Budget per day is 50€, i set it to 250€.

I hope my english is understandable ;)

Any Ideas?
Chris

I am not trying to act smart - but just check the Campaign Settings one more time and see if USA has been selected.

Are the keywords "mainstream" or are they somewhat in the grey area? (pharmacy for example).

If Google support is not able to help you out, create a separate campaign targeting USA only with the same keywords/ad copies.

If Google support is not able to help you out, create a separate campaign targeting USA only with the same keywords/ad copies.

I agree with the above recommendation with some suggestions. You can do this with an increase in Max CPC.

The reason behind this is to increase your ad position in the US market. As I believe (as a speculation) that Google may set a cut-off on ad position in some highly competitive keywords. Since your current ad position may have been fallen below the cutoff in the US but not in other markets. Your ad will be on the waiting list in US. An increase in "daily budget" will not effect on your ad position but CPC increase does.

If this is the case, other alternative is to expand your keywords in the new US ad group into several phrase terms so that your overall ad position may be improved.

AWA. Is there any cut-off ad position setting for certain keywords? If any keyword with ad position below the cut-off will be on waiting list.

This is a really tough one to comment on, hacktic, without seeing the actual account - but I do have some thoughts and observations.

Recommended Budget per day is 50€, i set it to 250€.

This could still be a daily budget issue, in which your ad simply wasn't showing when you looked for it. It actually sounds like a daily budget thing, in spite of the fact that your budget is set higher than the recommended. This has been discussed at length in this forum in the past - however it can occur when you have several of keywords with a high CTR - say 4% and above. The higher the CTR is beyond the 'average' (of roughly 2%), then the more possible it is that your ad is not showing 24/7 in spite of the fact that budget shows as OK.

Another check to see if your budget is too low for the ad to show all the time is to check your actual spend day-by-day for the past 7 days or so. Has your budget been met or exceeded on many or most days? This is a sure sign that your budget is too low, even if it is higher than the recommended figure.

The remaining Clicks are from "Search Network" or from Canada, Netherlands, Spain, UK.
No more clicks from the USA.

Just wanted to make it clear that Google domains are a part of the "Search Network". So clicks that you see in the total for the search network will include those coming from Google.

Before Friday
5000 Impressions / day
50-70 Clicks / Day

After Friday
200 Impressions / Day
1-3 Clicks / Day

This is actually the sort of thing that one might expect if one edited their ads, which would then cause them to show only on Google, until they could be reviewed/approved and sent to partner sites.

From the moment my Ads were showing in the "search network" my Ads stopped showing on Google.

This is a bit unclear to me, as it is quite difficult to pinpoint the moment your ads have been approved and been sent to partner sites. Do you actually mean something else?

AWA. Is there any cut-off ad position setting for certain keywords? If any keyword with ad position below the cut-off will be on waiting list.

Well, if there is a cut-off, I've certainly never heard of one - or seen evidence of one. So, I'll say "No", for the moment, with 99.8% certainty, and triple check my information.

One thought though: the maximum number of advertisers that can show for a particular keyword is limited only by the number of search pages available. So if your position would have been 30, but there are only three search results pages (and thus only 24 spots) then you would not show. This is very rare, however. I think I may have seen it occur twice in the past two years - for truly 'corner case' searches.

Oh, and welcome to WebmasterWorld hacktic!

Just wanted to make it clear that Google domains are a part of the "Search Network". So clicks that you see in the total for the search network will include those coming from Google.

If i speak of the "Search Network" i mean sites like:
[ask.co.uk...]
[search.information.com...]
etc.
Anything but [google.com...]

I track clicks by my own Webserver Logs and use the Adword Stats only to count impressions.

This is a bit unclear to me, as it is quite difficult to pinpoint the moment your ads have been approved and been sent to partner sites. Do you actually mean something else?

Well, once domains like [ask.co.uk...] showed up as referrer in the Webserver logs, the clicks with IP's belonging to US-Providers stopped and i couldnt find em with &gl=us&hl=en anymore. (i use IP targeting myself)

So i think someone approved my Ad for the Partner Sites but "broke" something =)

create a separate campaign targeting USA only with the same keywords/ad copies.

Did that, and my Ads are back on Page 1 for 0.05€/click. Was a good idea =)

Thanks for the help and the suggestions.

I will add the missing 0.2%. I am 100% sure that there is no 'waiting list'.

I am 100% sure that there is no 'waiting list'.

Do you have any data to back up your statement?

My experience tells me differently. Some of my keywords, which were set at $0.05, had suddenly stopped showing. Once I raised the CPC to enhance their ad positions, they are back. There are so many bids for these keywords at minimal.
