Understanding the Search Volume green bar

Hey Guys,

I want know what would be the rough estimate of how many EXACT searches are made for a particular keyword from Google.

If not, how many searches(estimate) are made if the green bar is 1/4 full, 1/2 full or 3/4 full?

I can't figure this one out and I would love some input.

I doubt there is an exact numerical relationship - I have seen half bars in some ad groups where the search volumes are orders of magnitude higher than the same green bar in another ad group.

I guess it might be percentage based, not absolute numbers based.

What the bar shows is relevant to the other keywords, not absolute.

Compare what you see in AdWords with:
Overture search tool.

And KeyWorddiscovery (try a few alterntives here, countries etc) to get a rough estimate.
If you know a unique keyword well (your own site or brand name for example) you can infer pretty well the totals on other keywords. Play around for a while and you will get a feel for this.
