Keyword.com shows up in adwords

A glitch?

I have a domain that is also a popular phrase (2 keywords together). Doing a search on my domain, in the form of:
KeywordKeyword.com

I saw an adword pop up that had my domain as the title. Reflexively I was going to scream bloody murder with the merchant and/or Google. Then I looked and noted that the first part of the domain, ie the keyword, was bolded:
KeywordKeyword.com

and it made me think that there was a bid on KeywordKeyword...but I'm not really sure. Can someone comment on this?
I am correct that you cannot bid on someone else's domain name?

Was my question unclear and it needs to be restated with new words? Or is it that no one has an opinion?

I think that the company showing up that ad, had "keywordkeyword" as one of their terms and they're using dynamic keyword insertion. That's why your domain name (which you typed into the search bar) came up.

That's definitely not the case. I have at least 200 domains currently with bids on them.

I'd say they're definitely bidding on your domain name and all the variants. Otherwise, they would have to be using dynamic insertion witht the .com at the end. That sounds like a pretty odd strategy to me. IMO, the .com wasn't bolded; because, it is more or less a stop word.

Eh, I'll take it as a compliment then. I visited this merchant many years ago when the Internet was just getting underway...casually mentioned the amount of traffic I was getting and he pooh poohed it. Now he's advertising the domain.com. Good for him :)

Yeah, I had to do the same when Yahoo starting putting up Adwords on our domain. At least, you can probably afford to bid on the offenders' domains. That wasn't an option for us against Yahoo.

If you really want to burn him up, why not buy some Gator ads on his site ;)
