Hey,

I've been an adsense publisher for years now and I just registered for an Adwords account... whieeeee... hip hip hurray...

No seriously... my question is: Is adwords suitable to enter a competitive market? Not really money-wise, not even quality-wise but a huge competition in numbers/quantity.

The reason why I want to start using Adwords is because of the fact that we're gonna start providing an English and French version of the website... and I want to attract french and english speaking surfer via Adwords...

Good strategy or not? Other advice?

Thx,
Ash

If you're going to have adsense on those sites then you might run into difficulty.

Many adwords/adsense arbitrage folks have seen their min bids rise dramatically.

Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones to not be affected.

You might consider starting off with No adsense ads.

Get established with adwords. Then if you need to ad adsense and your min bids skyrocket - you'll know why.

If you're just starting in PPC, I would strongly recommend you begin with Microsoft adCenter. It is a lot easier to use and you will get an easier transition to PPC marketing. I almost never recommend adWords to starters and friends, it is becoming more complex and just not a good starting point.

AdCenter also typically has cheaper bids, meaning it's easier to make a profit. I find traffic volumes are about 15% of AdWords in the UK.
