How does AdWords deal with this?

I am new to AW but doing pretty well, I have a newbie question though.

If I have a campaign with lets say 2 ad groups. In the ad groups I use some of the keywords, but I only want one of the adgroups to display if someone searches for that keyword. Does google automatically do that or will sometimes they might be displayed together?

Also if I have two campigns with the same keywords will it display it twice possibly?

They will only display once. If you want one to display rather than the other one, bid 1c (or more) higher in that group/campaign.
