How does adsense bill advertisers?

I am wondering how adsense bills advertisers? Is it an auto-bill or do you have to prepay? And do they just accept credit cards?

As an advertiser which do you prefer auto-bill or prepaid balance for clicks?

Google charges me on a "Post-pay Billing" basis and yes I can only pay by credit card. I have noticed though that in the account manager there is a field for "Method of billing" and "Form of payment" but I am unable to change any of these. Pehaps if you advertise a lot with them you maybe able to choose. Hopefully someone else here will be able to confirm whether that is an option.

Personally I prefer to pre-pay, it kinda keeps the possibilty of charges going through the roof. The benefit of post-paying is that unless your CC transaction is declined then you shouldn't see a break in your campaigns.

Tomld2 - Below, I've included a few links from the AdWords FAQ, which should give you the info you need. BTW, I am assuming you actually mean AdWords, rather than AdSense. If you did mean AdSense, well, that is a whole different story!

Google invoices me once a month for my AdWords usage, and I write them a check. I used to pay with credit card but I spend so much on AdWords it was a waste of money paying the interest, even if it was only for 30 days.
