Suspended For Nearly 4 Weeks

No Response From Google :(

Hi guys,

My account was suspended several weeks ago and since then I've contacted Google from my AdWords account, I've phoned them a few times and e-mailed/replied directly to their suspension notice.

Any ideas about how to get a response from them or to get back on?

And yes before anyone asks, I made a mistake. I bought an unlimited advertising program from eBay and this must be why I was suspended so I'm not trying to defend myself. I just want to make things right and get my original account going again!

Thanks for your help

Sorry to hear you have been suspended - but this goes as a good warning to all those people out there who have considered buying Adwords vouchers from ebay. You are not the first - nor I doubt will you be the last. Remember, nothing in life is free or cheap. As I posted here before, normally in the terms and conditions of vouchers it states that they are only for new accounts not for existing accounts - however I am sure the people on ebay are not passing that information on.

As regards to you getting your account back - I suspect you won't. I am sure if you ferret around on this forum enough you will get some ideas on how to weedle back in - try sending a sticky to the person who got booted a couple of weeks ago for the same thing - maybe he can help!

Thanks for your kind words trannack but I hope you're wrong about getting back on!

Do you have a link or the name of the person who was suspended?

Thanks

Just found the thread. It was started on 31 Aug, by DavetheDude - or perhaps should more accurately be described as Dave the Dud! The thread was called Adwords suspension. I don't know if he succeeded or not - you might need tos end him a sticky.

Admin thanks again for your nice words too.

Well, Google has every right to be cocky.
I've paid to use Yahoo, Ask etc... and they're all a waste of money and time.

Google actually gets conversions and the clicks are from real people so they're the best, not like Yahoo :) (no offence but Yahoo sucks and it's all clickfraud)

Anyways, Google if you can see this, for the love of god or not, please let me in! :)

If anyone else has tips to get back in please do let me know! I just don't know what to fix because Google is not responding to me.
And yes they said I'm suspended and said it in a nice way and it's not a ban, just a suspension but it's scaring me.

Thanks again guys

Well, I think I've done all I can and Google is not responding and it seems everyone else in my boat hasn't gotten back on.

I've gone to ask.com, I've seen complaints about "I can't speak to customer service" but after speaking to Google customer service and having them tell me they can't really do much for me, I'm not worried!

I've gotten more advertising, higher conversions for less money on ask.com so at this time I recommend everyone move to ask.com at least for now because it seems Google doesn't want to convert us to paying customers.

well didn't i tell you it is something that will end this company's future. :)

they just push $Money$ a way.. they "ask" us to look around and when we do , new companies come up with solutions .. so they can have our $Money$ :)

google might have the right to be cocky.. but God Bless Capitalism

Yes, I know you're right!

I'm sick of them.

They never call me back or anything and I've done my best.

Google has definitely become an evil corporate giant.

I've phoned and done everything and the arrogance is obvious.

Here we go:

4+ weeks ago I received my suspension notice.
After desperately trying to get help and answers from live chat,e-mail, phone etc.. here is their response it is exactly the same thing as the original suspension notice.

The only difference is that they specficially state they can't assist me and not to contact them anymore! They should just call it a ban and say 'screw you'. I guess they are in plain english they are saying "we are too big for you, you're suspended and now we're reminding you're suspended, that you screwed up and that we aren't going to help you and we don't care and don't ask for help again".

I was even paying like normal for my original account and they won't even help me reactivating it!

Like so many people who bought free advertising programs on eBay I aplogized to Google and they just don't care!

Why did they allow me to break the rules. If it was not allowed
I wish their system notified me with a warning or just didn't
allow these multiple accounts!

Your email excerpt is going to get snipped by mods or admins for sure ..( it would appear that you are no better at reading TOS here than you are at reading TOS at google ) ..

rule #9

Email excerpts of ANY type or length are not allowed on WebmasterWorld. There are no exceptions to this rule

However as you appear to have misconstrued their email to you ..
Nowhere do they say you are banned ..( but they do appear to be trying to tell you that hassling them over what is your fault for not having taken the time to read their TOS before putting yourself in breach of their TOS is beginning to get on their nerves ..) and If I were you I'd look for another avenue to drive your traffic ..and from time to time just check back on your account to see if it is active again ..

The small print is the small print ..just like EULA's .if you dont read the contract it cannot be anyone's fault but your own ..it's not like they dont spell it out before hand ..just no one bothers to read anything ..

I am the last person to champion the google cause ( or that of any other ad agency that began as a search engine ) ..

But they did make it clear when you signed up ..but you didnt read it ..you saw "cheap" way to save money and didn't think to verify if it contravened your contract ..

Why should they give you a second chance straight away?

Why should they waste their time replying and walking you through re-application etc ..they would be paying someone to set right the effects of your laziness ( and in their eyes possible dishonesty ) ..

That would gain them what?..your money ..

They can get money from others without the hassle and the expense ..in their eyes you cheated ..and your only excuse is that you didn't know ..( except the rules are there from the get go ..you just have to read them ) ..So they have given you a time out with no indication of how long it's for ..they could've just banned you ..they haven't ..

They have made many indications that you may eventually get back your account ..if you dont piss them off ..and if you dont whine at them that you didnt know and or it wasnt your fault and especially if you dont try to make it like it was their fault for not thinking and reading for you ..

I'm certainly not a google fan boy ..and I dont know you from Adam ( just saw this thread in passing )..but from what you yourself have described as your conduct ..I can certainly see where they are coming from ..and I think they are well within their rights ..

If I were you I'd look at plan B and stop hassling them about your own actions ..or they might start bouncing your emails or blackholing anything from your addy or related to your credit card ..

and if they let you back ..be squeaky clean ..

Why did they allow me to break the rules

they didn't ..just took them awhile to get around to you ..

If it was not allowed
I wish their system notified me with a warning or just didn't
allow these multiple accounts!

you knew it wasnt ..or you would have if you'd read the small print ...not doing so is your problem and responsiblilty ..not theirs..

I said I made a mistake, you've never made a mistake in life? I've apologized, I've contacted them to find out how to lift the suspension. I guess that's a no no too even though they requested an e-mail response about their suspension.

You're right, I should have known better about that product I bought but I still agree with the person who sold it. Why does Google allow you to do it, if their system can ban people like a communist country surely they should have either warned or prevented this from happening.

I haven't harassed them, I waited weeks after my initial contact to ask them for an update and was polite each time. Is that also unreasonable to you?

I didn't see the rules here about e-mails but thanks for it. I guess I'm a total criminal in your eyes for not knowing this :)

I had an original normal account that doesn't work anymore and I've kindly asked them for updates or how to get back on, how long I have to wait etc.

Sorry Mr. Do Good if I'm not "squeeky clean" like you.

I'm not squeaky clean either ..just take the trouble to read before I post and to listen before I speak ..and dont try to blame others when I didn't do either ..

If you want to bend or break rules you have to be smart ..and suffer the consequences when / if caught ..

Your "I didn't read the rules " isn't their problem ..

Your attitude is your problem ..assume your mistakes and move on ..stop trying to make it their fault that you screwed up ( while trying to cheat them ) ..you are wasting your energies ..and they havent banned you ..just suspended for as long as they feel you neeed to learn the lesson ..( and the uncertainty of the duration makes the lesson sink in better ) but keep this up and they just might ban you and then you could accuse them of being fascist ..

no one has to accept anyone elses "sorry" ..thats life ..

Your "I didn't read the rules " isn't their problem ..

It goes beyond reading or not reading the rules. Most honest people can figure out what is honest and what is not, and what kinds of schemes are designed to defraud (like opening up multiple accounts to use "free" coupons which say they can only be used with new accounts).

I don't have to read the criminal code to understand that taking a candy bar without paying for it is theft.

Other people are either dishonest, or simply aren't "with it" enough to recognize what they are doing is essentially fraud.

To complain that a company won't do business with you after you get caught in attempts to defraud that company is a very strange action.

Leosghost:

Ahh...what? You sure seem to know an awful lot about their TOS, I mean memorized. I've read their TOS, and never really remembered anything; like everybody else on the planet I've got too much to remember :)

Anyways, all I wanted to know was for 'how long'. I know I'm suspended, for gods sake, stop repeating that. I already KNOW. What I said was, that it feels like I'm banned because they don't give two *hits to respond back. All I want to know, is for how bloodly long.

They can say 4 weeks, 2 months, 6 years, I don't give a rats ass, I just need to know how long.

I'm not the only one who's ever complained about them not doing anything but reply back with dull emails saying what I already knew over again.

After speaking to 6 people in total about how long I am suspended for, the best response I got was 'refrain from contacting us again.' They said they are doing an investigation. But that makes no sense, because they have had to already done an investigation in order to come to the conclusion that I'm suspended.

They are making it difficult for customers like me, who are trying to do the right thing after screwing up rather largely.

My attitude? Forgive me, I've never done very well when I'm losing money.

You sound more like the Adwords Team than just another joe.

But whatever, I give up. I'm just gonna do it behind their backs, and if they *itch. Too bad. That's how everybody else is getting back on, so I'm following.

To hell with being honest. :) But I will say thank you, you did give some insight on what to do next. :)

And to the other dude who posted, why are you so weird...?

To hell with being honest.

That's funny. Like you were honest before?

BTW, you keep saying you made a mistake. That's like saying the bank robber who knocks over the local bank and gets caught claiming it was "just a mistake", and please please please, can I open an account at the bank I robbed?

Do you want to do business with a person you caught stealing from you?

Your statement that you'll continue to cheat really validates google's treatment of you, don't you think?

Honesty and personal responsibility haven't seemed to have visited you recently.

Good luck. I wonder if one of these days google will actually charge a few people with fraud, just to have some example cases. A few people in jail might cut down on the people saying "Hell with being honest".

Hope it's not you. Wire fraud - very serious charges and penalities.

I've gone to ask.com,

I don't know about Google being cocky. I tried calling Ask today and, trust me, I've never spoken to anyone that stupid, that unhelpful, or that insolent. I came away thinking I'd rather not have someone at the end of that phone.

What? You sure do an awful lot of ranting for someone who 'doesn't' work for Google. And comparing me to a bankrobber, since when do drug stores sue people for using the same coupon over and over again? Seems to me you pay a lot of attention to only Google forums- either you love Google; or you work for them.
And what's so wrong with admitting you made a mistake. I'm new to the internet ad world, and bought a product from ebay I fancied. Found out that it was wrong, but apparently millions of others have done the same thing. And are only getting caught now. Which strikes me as rather odd?
Google's not stupid. They didn't 'catch' anyone before, because the multiple ad's were driving up the price for specific keywords etc.
And for the record, I don't recall saying I was going to 'go back' to doing the same thing. I just said, I was going to get back on, by doing what many others on this forum and plenty others have advised me. That doesn't automatically mean on 'dishonest terms', as you so cleverly suggested.
Rather touchy aren't we Mister Google?
Ask.com is doing pretty well. The price list for certain keywords though is very high, but a simple phone call or email to someone gets paid attention to like a religion. I know I've told them about my concerns on how their pricing works.
Because Ask.com is doing a large marketing spread on T.V and blah blah blah, they are more particular in listening to customers. Google has no motivation, since they know they dominate most of the market.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not bad mouthing Google (even though they are uptight arrogant little people :D ), there's a reason I want to get back on as quickly as possible; simply put: it makes me money. And I love my money dearly.

We should start a poll, and some help for this poor fellow. I think he probably would benefit from people here doing business with him, so let's all pitch in and hook up with him business-wise.

Or, wait. The poll. Do you want to do business with this person? Yes. No.

Just curious.

I think its clear that an attitude like that shown in this thread is not going to succeed in getting reinstated.
Dishonesty will perhaps work (unfortunatley) but unless the attitude to adhering to the rules changes, I'd bet it doesn't last for long.

Leosghost,
I make joke LOL

rbacal,
Teehee
Let's take a poll and see who wants to do business with you?
The guy who harasses anyone who complains about Google :)

Actually it's not a crime to use a coupon over again, and it's certainly not a crime to complain either.

I'm just very happy that this post is still up.

The actual Google employee's on here have been very nice, in fact I would love to deal with them over some of the jokes I've dealt with (I'm talking to you Adwords! :P ) Google guys have been able to better respond and quicker on here then when you actually call into Google. :D

Anyhoo, I'm just gonna go by what I've been advised by other Google guys/and gals and some of the more brilliant people on here.

I'll end by inviting everyone into a 'rant down'! HORRAY! Lets all *itch since we have nothing better to do all day then to defend Almighty Adwords!
