Because, what I am seeing is very unfair to ACTUAL local advertisers. When I do a search for "specific service" in "my city, ca" (which I have a local listing set up with a 15 mile radius) my listing rarely comes up. Even if I move the CPC up to $3.00 per click. The results that do come up are many NON-local businesses that are much larger and can put in a higher CPC. Not only that, they are not "specific service" related (they may be somewhat related to "specific service"). These are the same advertisers that would show up if you did a normal search globally on google for "specific service." This is TOTALY unfair for ACTUAL local advertisers. I doubt that these large advertisers even set up local account and if they did they just set the radius to an large number like 5000, etc, etc.
With my normal google ads I have search phrases like "my city specific service" where I am only paying about a $0.75 CPC because it is more targeted. The only problem is google now includes the "local" link at the top of the search results page... which then will not have my ad because of the high cost. This is completely unfair the the "local business" they are trying to target with local ad's.
The fact that the local search is for a "My City, CA Specific Service" should mean that it is filtered in the same way normal google searches for "My City Specific Service" would be.
Is anybody else using local google and having the same problem?
