Searching for our ads via a few specific kw's, I notice they aren't showing. Diagnostic tool - both elements of it - state that there are no ads matching these search terms. Stats, this month and last, say otherwise (in fact they are long-standing kw's).
Indeed, these specific kw's are very healthy ones within this ad group. So, if the Diagnostic Tool tells me the kw's don't exist, where are the stats coming from. If there are stats then ads must showing - so, where's the ads? And, as the kw's are plain to see within the adgroup, why can't the Diagnostic Tool see them?
I'm confused. What is it I'm doing wrong?

I've also been told by an AdWords rep that it's possible to have an ad running for some keywords and not others until manual review.
Have you edited your ad copy recently? Or perhaps added the keyphrase 'generic viagra'?

But some keywords dont show adds in the tool but get impressions/clicks everyday.
Sorry to be late to the party. There is currently an issue with the Ads Diagnostic Tool which will cause it to return the message you are describing in at least some cases. Due to interdependencies with other stuff, it's likely to be several days at least before this is resolved.
In the meantime, I apologize for the inconvenience.

The KWs not showing as they should is the primary issue.
Loads of accounts are seeing this. A problem since Friday 25th August. Recent Adwords changes caused it. We're hearing that its a "top priority" with their tech.
Wish the techies would test things slowly & 100% properly before causing grief & wasted time for clients, agencies & Google's own support staff who are left totally in the dark.
Not good for anyone & completely avoidable.
This bug needs to be fixed yesterday. Not in "several days". I heard that 10 days ago.

*BTW, above isn't directed at you AWA. Keep up the good work :)
If for whatever reason they can't distinguish between ads truly not existing and ones waiting to be reviewed you would think they could at least add the "not reviewed yet" reason to the list displayed.
