Ad Approval Delay

What is the word on recent experience?

Is there a thread going somewhere about ad approval delays? Ads I submitted as long ago as Thursday 8/3 are not approved yet. I am getting slightly different answers from support as to why each time I ask. Got at least one client that is not at all happy.

I have had similar experiences with ads text associated with keywords that do not get searched often. It seems they are 2+ weeks behind in some cases.

It is quite possible they are understaffed and that is why they plan on opening in huge center in Michigan.

If you have an account rep, e-mail them to push the ad text toward policy. It doesn't necessarily mean they will be approved that evening, or the next day, but that is the only step I can recommend.

Also, you may want to e-mail support explaining your situation and give the exact path to the campaigns and ad groups you would like them to review. Again, this just makes them aware of the situation.

Last time I did this, I got a reply saying to ensure fairness Ads are reviewed as they come in, on a first-come-first-serve basis.

I've got ads going back to July 25th that still haven't been approved. Guess there is nothing we can do but wait, work on other projects, etc.

Same here and after talking to support I get the impression they are understaffed for the load.

This has recently been happening to our submissions in the travel industry. When I ask my Google rep why they are not fully functional immediately like everything used to be or if we can tell in advance what ads will be flagged or slowed or inactive pending review all we get is the "that is proprietary information."

The problem is we get some clicks and impressions, set the bids up accordingly without realizing they are only being shown on a limited basis and then they go "full-throttle" and our spend goes nuts.

Moral? What you see at first is by no means what you will end up with. If I didn't have a rep to push submissions thru, I would wait at least a month before assuming everything was "on".

How do I check if my ads have been approved?
