Interested in the Interest Bar?

You can still check the interest of your ads...

I stumbled upon a way to see the old format of AdWords ads, including the interest bar. Via another WW post, I was taken to the unclesam search on google, which still shows the old AdWords ad format.

[google.com...]

It's informative in that it's a vague indicator of how your ads (and your competitors) are performing on Google only.

Plus, you can pretend it's pre April 2004! : )

Interesting.
I've just had a look at one of my own ads. on there. It's in position no.1
On the proper G it's in position 5.

However on the 'unclesam' site there are only 7 results compared to 41K on G itself.

But the format on the 'unclesam' site, with the coloured ad. surround begs the question:

Was the old format more productive than the current one. By productive I mean more impressions, better CTR, more sales, better ROI.

Any comments anyone?

I'll admit I'm a little surprised at the lack of interest in this question, especially in light of the 'heat' that the UI change generated when it occured.

I was really interested to hear some feedback!

Anyone?

Hey,

Yeah, I like the old format better... I don't know if ROI actually changed with the it though.
