Would I be better to pay my account in Turkish Lira which the minnimum bid is 80000 Lira, this works out to just about 3p thus saving myself 1p on every bid.
Obviuosly this wouldn't work on competitve markets as you would just go down the list. But I have a few spelling mistakes that get quite a few hits and wondered if this would be a good easy way to save money on future accounts.
Would google allow it or would there be a charge to the CC for the payment in a foreign currency.
In my experience different card companies choose whether or not to charge commission on foreign transactions. If you can find one that doesn't then it might be a solution to get the lowest cost bids.

on a serious note though, was showing 1 of my self serve accounts to a senior Google adwords person in Europe who commented on the USD for UK market and said "smart move"
they know about it, and will let it go for as long as possible as its NOT a major loophole or anything.
