Are affiliates no longer welcome?

Ok, i'm confused. I've seen a ton of stuff on arbitrage, MFA's, etc with these most recent changes, and there are a few members on this forum who appear to be happy about the changes.

Seeing as I don't send a single Adwords hit to a page with an Adsense ad, yet I was hit by these changes, i'm confused by what Google is trying to get rid of.

I'm an affiliate, so what I do is take traffic I get from Google, send them to an extremely relevant landing page (I don't waste $$ on irrelevant clicks, I hate them), and then on my landing page I give them about 3-4 websites that feature the exact product they're looking for. I don't just toss up links, I give them screenshots of the site, prices, descriptions and more.

I also give them a few websites that feature similar, but not exactly the same product.. however it's clear that those listings are what they are. I don't try to trick them, nor do I want to. It's a waste of traffic. I want to be as up front and honest with them as I can be.

That being said, i'm asking those who are happy about this. Is my site the type of site they're trying to get rid of? I have no products for sale, i'm nothing more than a broker who tries to find you the best possible product that you're looking for. Are they trying to eliminate that and just display sites that allow you to browse, shop and check out directly at one site? Is the life of an affiliate / broker going to be dead at Adwords?

I'm not looking for another bash / complain thread about Google. If you want to complain about them, i'm with you fully, but i'd rather save this thread for a discussion on the changes made, and changes that will be made. I personally don't want to make band-aid fixes to my landing pages only to have them wiped away next round of changes.

So i'm really looking for the input of experienced Adwords users who appear to understand the 'Google vision'. Thanks!

They aren't saying, never have, and never will.

It is up to you, the bufuddled customer, to guess.

Even those policies that they DO clearly state, they have only selectively enforced, and continue to do so.

So basically I should continue doing what i'm doing, but plan on eventually being driven away from Google? If it happens, at least i'll be ready.. if not, then great!
