Hey,

I was wondering about how people like to create their ads for AdWords. This is what I have been doing...

1. Search for AdGroups Main KeyWord. So if I had an adgroup with the main Keyword being Blue Widgets, and any other related blue widget words, I would search in Google for "Blue Widget"

2. Check out the Competition for the first page. Note what they are using in their ads as an angle, or selling feature.

3. Improve on what they do or at least something different.

This is usually how I write my first set of ads for a new AdGroup.

Thoughts?

There's a great book - The Blind Watchmaker by Richard Dawkins - that talks about cumulative selection. I believe that it is very applicable to Adwords creation and evolution.
